Our Breeding Priorities:
Here at Coppertown, we take thoughtful care into the pregnancy, birth, and care of our puppies and the parents. It begins with deciding when is the appropriate time to breed. In Southern California, we feel it’s important to match our breeding schedule with ideal weather conditions. We want the puppies well-acclimated to indoor and outdoor conditions, and during the extreme heat we need to protect the little puppies and Lola from over-heating. Because of this, we forego breeding if it means the puppies would be born in the most extreme heat.
We also take great care in protecting the momma, and watch carefully for her overall health throughout her breeding years.
Our Lola and Goose receive annual care from an Integrative Veterinary Specialist, who ensures they remain in excellent health for each litter.
Puppies are cared for in sanitary, well-maintained housing, with daily cleaning and rotation of toys. Our 4 children provide daily interaction, environment introductions, and stimulation until they are ready to go home as a stable, well-rounded pup. We live on nearly 1 acre of gated land which allows them safe exploring, and we take the time to introduce the puppies to sand, bark, grass, dirt, trees, carpet, and hard flooring.
We choose to feed our Goose and Lola with high quality food, particularly noting the increased dietary needs of Lola during pregnancy and nursing. Our family will provide you with the suggested food and feeding schedule of our puppies upon adoption.
Puppies receive excellent veterinary oversight and support from birth until 8 weeks, and all paperwork will be available for adoption families.
Both Lola and Goose are AKC Registered, and all puppies with be registered with the AKC as well.
